Oman’s ITA focus on smart cities.
Muscat: Information Technology Authority (ITA) represented by the Government eTransformation plan team organised a one-day workshop in its premises in the Knowledge Oasis Muscat, in partnership with information technology research and advisory company, Gartner.
The workshop focused on Smart Cities in line with the eTransformation Plan.
Attended by a number of representatives from various government entities, the workshop was conducted by Gratner’s Research Vice President for Environmental Sustainability, Bettina Tratz-Ryan.
She discussed the concept of smart cities towards an improved citizen services and satisfaction by creating easy and efficient transport, health, energy and many more solutions for the entire society.
“Critical Guidance is a must on how we actually construct and modulate smart city from a framework perspective but then how to also create citizen value from the collaboration between the government entities as well as citizens and business,” Bettina said.
