Dublin’s future as ‘Smart City’ topic of discussion at a business breakfast.
Dublin’s future as a ‘Smart City’ was the topic of discussion at a business breakfast event in the InterContinental Dublin this morning.
The Smart Series event, organised by Dublin Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by Fujitsu, featured a keynote address from Dublin City Council chief executive Owen Keegan.
At the event, Keegan spoke about the need to co-ordinate the various ‘Smart City’ projects currently taking place in Dublin.
He told the audience of 120 business leaders that ‘Smart’ solutions will be required to address many of the challenges currently facing Dublin, including transport congestion, responding to extreme weather events, tidal flooding, improved air quality and noise, citizen engagement and energy efficiency.
